| The WCIF Long Term Benefits
The benefits are Workers Pension, Widow/Widower's Pension and Dependants Allowance.
Workers Pension
In instances where a worker's injury results in permanent disablement, compensation will be paid to the worker as a pension, if the disability is more than 30% and the worker's pension is more than $62,000.00 per month then a pension is paid.
For injured workers resident outside Zimbabwe, it is possible for them to receive payments of their pensions in whatever country they will have relocated to.
Children's allowances are included in worker's pension, for children up to the age of 19 years. The children's allowance is paid according to the rate shown on the table below:
1 child - 12 1/2% of worker's pension
2 children - 17 1/2% of worker's pension
3 children - 22 1/2% of worker's pension
4 children - 27 1/2% of worker's pension
5 children - 32 1/2% of worker's pension
6th child or more will be paid at a rate determined by the General Manager. Currently the rate is 1% of the worker's pension per child.
Widow/Widower's Pension
If a maimed worker dies as a result of a work accident, the surviving spouse receives 2/3 of the deceased's pension. In the case of two wives, the proceeds will be shared equally between the two. The children will also receive their allowances.
If the surviving spouse remarries, they get a lump sum equivalent to 24 months pension. The children's allowances remain the same.
