The Physiotherapy Department’ s main thrust is to treat and prevent injuries and diseases that affect movement through the use of manual handling, education, exercise and machines in order to improve and maintain movement and function.
The Department is fully equipped and consists of three main units offering a wide range of treatment programmes. The programmes are specially designed and structured to deal with specific individual requirements. The following is a list of some of the facilities available at the centre to cater for different physiotherapy programmes.
- Gymnasium
Treadmill, rowing machines, physio-balls, multi-purpose gym, Quadriceps bench, static exercise bicycles, pulley systems, parallel bars and supervised exercises. - Electrotherapy
Short-wave diathermy, ultra sound, ultra violet, micro computerised electrical stimulation, wax bath, cryotherapy, traction unit for lumbar and cervical traction and CPM machines. - Hydrotherapy
Heated pool (30⁰-33⁰) and shower rooms.
