Fixed Income

Housing Investments covers residential accommodation as follows:

    Low income/high density houses;

    Medium income/density houses;

    Low density houses; and

    Residential flats

The Authority shall invest in housing development through acquisition of land for housing development, servicing of stands, or financing construction of superstructures through building societies.

In housing development the Authority may choose to work directly through local authorities or through one or more building societies or any other financial institutions. The Authority may acquire equity interest in a building society or any other financial institution in order to support its housing development initiatives.

In promoting housing development the Authority may invest directly or on a joint venture basis in infrastructure development such as sewerage upgrading and dam construction.

Housing investments are considered suitable only if there is reasonable assurance of valid title and are expected to generate adequate cash flows and rate of return acceptable to the schemes.
