Money  market

NSSA invests in money market instruments such as Negotiable Certificates of Deposit (“NCD”s), Treasury Bills (“TBS”) and Banker’s Acceptances (“BA”s) that give an optimal rate of return. This requires consistent monitoring of the money market so as to identify the macro-economic factors that are currently driving the market and are expected to influence its future performance.

Structured facilities

NSSA may provide facilities directly to corporates for specific projects as part of playing its developmental role. The key consideration in project loan financing is good credit quality of the borrower supported by related collateral so as to mitigate credit risk.

Credit enhancements

NSSA may also provide credit enhancements in order to facilitate strategic transactions while also enhancing investment income for the Authority.

Statutory stock

NSSA invests in assets that are prescribed in order meet statutory requirements. The prescribed assets normally are government stocks and bonds; local authority bills and bonds; parastatal bills and bonds and other corporate bonds that have been accorded such a status by the Government.
