Purpose

• To ensure the sustainability of the Workers Compensation Insurance Fund (WCIF) through appropriate occupational accidents and diseases prevention strategies.
• To promote Occupational Safety and Health in Zimbabwe through various promotional and training programmes.

Objectives

• To assist industry to identify, develop and implement effective Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) management systems
• Equip stakeholders with knowledge and information on OSH programmes required for different workplace settings
• Build the capacity of the employers, employees & the general public to prevent occupational accidents & diseases through effective training and information sharing
• Assist industry in creating and sustaining a preventive OSH culture in Zimbabwe

Key Activities

• To carry out industrial assessments of OSH performance of Zimbabwean companies annually
• Raise OSH awareness by conducting teach-ins and commemorating national and international event dates
• Carry out needs determination surveys to help in creating organization specific OSH promotion programmes
• Conduct appropriate OSH trainings
• Organize and run OSH Conferences, Seminars and Workshops
• Offer library services to members of the industry, tertiary institutions and public
